How many is 143 million?

Thursday, October 29, 2009

So I got a sunburn Tuesday from walking through our entire neighborhood loading mail boxes with memos requesting items to sale for my upcoming mission trip to Ethiopia. I'm planning to visit several orphanages and hope to be able to bring in donations. So far, I've got 2 responces but I'm praying that many more pour in. We don't have much to sale and I'd like to try and get about $2,000 from this. I can't wait to go and be with the kiddos and love on them and soak in all that is Africa! I watched "I Am Because We Are" and though it's tear jerking and heart breaking it's so important that people watch it to be informed of the situation in Malawi and have their eyes opened to the plight of orphans there.

Visit to the Pumpkin Patch...

First of all let me say that yesterday Michael and I had our FIFTH wedding anniversary!!! YEA! Doesn't at all seem like it's been 5 years already.
We also took Ezra with our church's Mom's Group to a pumpkin patch in Flower Mound, TX. I had no idea how elaborate it would be and was totally overwhelmed by all the stuff there was to do there for kids. Ezzy is still a bit too young for the jump houses and the hay maze but he loved just playing with the hay and pumpkins and mostly just running away from his mom and dad.

"Dad, help me pick this thing up!"

A little help from Daddy goes a long way

Some new pictures...

So here are some of recent pictures of our visit to Baton Rouge for the LSU vs. UF game, to see my old boss Dr. Rich Kane from Florida and his wife Cheri as well as some of the Ez around the house and from my parents annual Halloween Bash! My mom goes crazy decorating the house at Halloween and hosts a huge party with a hay ride for over 100 people and kids. It was Ezra's first time to dress up for Halloween and his first hay ride :) He really wasn't too sure what to make of all the masks and painted faces.

Saw this and it made me happy...

For those like myself who love roaming the streets of the French Quarter in New Orleans then you too may appreciate these videos of street musicians from around the world.

Amazing video!

I stole this video from an amazing blog for an amazing family that also adopted from Ethiopia when we did. I highly recommend watching the video and visiting their blog as well. My only regret is that you won't be able to see the entire screen.

Funny guy...

So I got home today from volunteering with my Somali family and Michael showed me these really cute pics he'd taken of Ezra pulling Clovis in his little dump truck. SO freaking adorable I had to post them before something else comes up and I don't get to it for like a week or so.

New photos...

So I'm finally putting up some new pics from our trip to Trinity Park (Ezra's first time down a slide and on an actual play set), one of my best friends Trina's wedding in Austin last weekend, and some of Ezzy at home looking all grown up :)

A very beautiful blushing bride!

I know I'm partial being his mom and all but isn't he just the handsomest thing ever!!!

Daddies like to pay too!!
